The Xanthos Story
Fifty years of passion for the Golden Retriever
My first Golden Retriever was a present from my parents in 1970 — a son of Champion Camrose Cabus Christopher. I became absolutely hooked on the breed and have owned them for well over 50 years.
In 1976 I purchased a bitch puppy by Champion Nortonwood Faunus out of Gyrima Bernadina, and from that foundation the Xanthos line was established at Blackthorns, Rye Common, Odiham, Hampshire.
The acknowledgement of quality proven by ring success has been a great thrill, but breeding dogs capable of working in the field, in obedience, or as assistance dogs are additional feathers in my cap — and prove what a wonderful breed the Golden Retriever can be.
