Italian & UK Champion Xanthos Ferrari JW SGWC

In the summer of 2011 we drove down to Italy with Xanthos Firenze who herself carried Italian blood lines to mate her to a stud dog owned by Valentina Zanini called Pinkerly Valmont, Valentina called him Utah. While driving home of course excited at the litter planned, we decided to keep a dog puppy and call him Ferrari, Enzo would be the name we called him at home. He lived up to his name with a pace and panache that turned heads on the move. Built on classic lines with a deep, powerful body and the long, reaching stride that wins classes, he was a joy to show and a delight to watch. In the shooting field we used to say he was the only Ferrari with four wheel drive, until we discovered that Ferrari had just brought one out! great minds think alike as they say. Enzo won his Junior Warrant, passed his Show Gundog Working Certificate and his Italian Champion title, he then took his full UK title, the hi-lights of that show career were winning the Post Graduate class at Crufts in 2015 and coming back the following year when he won the CC from the working class in the young but very capable hands of Giovanni Monteverde. These two Italians made a great team, and I was so proud of them both.
